Welcome, AUTHOR
Stop looking over your shoulder, I'm talking to YOU.
You know you want to write a book that impacts lives.
And you’re committed, intelligent, and have something to share with the world. So what GIVES? It can feel like an uphill battle at times because you’re more than willing to DO THE WORK.
Fact is… there are some things you just can’t do alone.
Sometimes, life - think kids and all your endless to-dos - gets in the way, and you need a little more encouragement, accountability and support to break through.
Hi there, aspiring author...
I see you! I'm Camille, and I know all about what you’re going through.
In case we’ve never met before, let me tell you a little bit about me…
I'm a bestselling author and lover of books. I have a master’s degree in creative writing with a focus on nonfiction.
While in grad school, I read and wrote tens of thousands of words per semester and loved every minute of it.
Oh, and did I mention I did it all with two kids...ages three and under?! I'm truly committed to what I do!
I started book coaching because I believe we all have a story that begs to be told.
One that can impact lives, and your bottom line!
As someone who went to grad school with a dream of becoming a published author, I know the honest truth behind the business. What I came away with after three years of studying, is that you DON'T need an advanced degree to write books.
You don't need a Master's, and you definitely don't need a PhD!
In fact, while school helps you hone your writing skills and become a better reader, it does not come close to preparing you for actual publication.
Trust me, I learned this the hard way.
THAT'S WHY...
I'm on a mission to help other writers - like you - write, publish and sell their nonfiction books.
So if you’re ready to experience the high that comes from publishing a book that changes lives, in a way that's easy and fun, let’s talk.
More About Camille
I'm a mom of three married to my middle school sweetheart.
A first generation Cuban-American who grew up in Miami, Florida, I speak Spanish fluently.
Also a homebody and lover of family, I stayed home for my undergrad and studied marketing at the University of Miami.
In 2013, six-months pregnant with my first son and traveling the country supporting my New York Yankees playing hubby, I felt called to move to Tampa Bay.
I’m passionate about writing and books, but most importantly, my family and God.
I believe that being a mom and wife are the most important God-given assignments I’ll ever have and I take those roles very seriously.
However, there is much more to me than the titles mother, wife, and Catholic can describe.
Prior to getting my master's in creative writing, I was living in a season where my focus was primarily on those who relied on me. I was pouring every part of me into my family and my children, leaving nothing for myself.
I had tied my calling in life and subsequently, my identity, with being the perfect wife, mother, and Catholic.
This left me unfulfilled.
But even in the time I spent dedicated entirely to my family, I held on tightly to my passion for the written word. I knew I had books inside of me that had to come out.
Being creative, and a writer specifically, was not simply something I was gifted to do, I believe it’s a calling. And as with any calling, if we do not listen, there will always be a hole inside us looking to be filled.
Suffice it to say, writing and helping other writers get their stories out is a huge passion of mine.
When you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work.
AND TRULY, I LOVE WHAT I DO!
Book coaching has allowed me to marry my love for editing and writing, with my love for reading nonfiction.
When I discovered book coaching as a career (mind blown!), I was elated to use a blend of my passions for the benefit of my clients.
WHY?
Because I want to save others the YEARS and MONEY it took me to learn what I now know.
I want to help you realize that your dreams of writing a book and all that comes with it, are not only possible, they’re waiting for you to attain them.
It's time you stop overthinking and chasing your tail. You deserve to move forward with confidence, releasing all fear and discontent.
COOL?
fun facts
I love to edit
I’ve been told I have an eagle eye, but full disclosure, I’m a fan of the Oxford comma!
I can adapt to anyone’s needs, but I still think the extra comma is not only necessary, it can clear up a whole slew of legal issues. (Google “oxford comma lawsuit” if you don’t believe me.)
I was a blogger for MLBlogs
In 2012 I created a personal blog about my life as a baseball wife which gained traction and was picked up by Major League Baseball Advanced Media as part of their endorsed blog lineup. You can see that here.
I'm a nerd
I’m a crazy nerd when it comes to learning. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, so I’m always researching and learning.
If you look through my bookshelves or audible list, 90% of what I have is nonfiction. I am obsessed with memoir as a genre and am a self-proclaimed nonfiction nerd.
From memoir, to self-help and personal development. You can call me a perpetual student and I see no other way of existing.
